Credit where credit is due

I am not a fan of Donald Trump. He’s not a candidate I support for a multitude of reasons. It pains me to do this, but I will give him credit in this respect: for better or worse he has run a brilliant and shrewd campaign. He’s broken every political playbook and said whatever he wanted and/or needed to for over eight months, such that he has amassed about 40% of the Republican electorate. And now, he is blackmailing the rest of the party, summoning them to unify around him, lest the party facture and all h*ll break loose. It may have been an ugly, crass, malicious, and repugnant run thus far. But if the ends justify the means, it’s been quite ingenious.
